Beach Birthday

Happy Birthday to Milla and Faith!!!
Their birthday gift was to
SEE the OCEAN and Put their
TOES IN THE SAND!
We made it!!! This was in the first few minutes
that we were there!!
YAY!! So happy to be there!!
Faith's very first glimpse of the ocean...
a little baby by a big ocean is breathtaking
Milla was a master sand castle builder
the whole time!!
 Faith loved the sand...mostly
the taste of it!!!
 Our Family
Ft. Walton Beach, Florida
 Boogie Boarder
one morning we went to the Bay--
It was awesome-- I had never done that-- it
is on the stretch of government land between
Destin and Ft. Walton.  It is a sandy beach--
but, it doesn't have waves-- it has about 25 ft
of 2-3 feet water that leads out into the ocean--
so, it is great for the little ones to play and not get
knocked down.
The bay also has tons of wildlife--- these are
ALL hermit crabs that a little boy caught and
gave to Milla-- we got to watch as each one
found its way back to the ocean.  Brandon also
caught a huge crab.  Fish were jumping every
where.  In contrast to the busy beaches on the
pan handle--we basically had this bay beach
to ourselves! Good find thanks to Brandon!
 Family Feet!
 Faith in the sand
 Milla in the sand
She is learning how to spell her name-- she
has the M down pat and will point it out
on every sign she sees!
 sweet sisters
we had to try for the classic "white on the beach"
shot--we took tons of pictures and couldn't
get both of them to look at the same time on
a single one!! Still sweet pictures!
 Happy Girl!
 Sweet Thing!
Auburn ended up being the perfect
pit stop on the way down and the way back!
Milla was excited to be at "Daddy's School"!
Here we are eating at Toomer's Corner Drug Store.
It was such a great trip!
Waiting to go to the beach in late August is the
key to saving money-- prices really drop.  We really
liked the condo we stayed in.  It is called the "Nautilus"
and it was unit #2507.

Forever Young

"May the good Lord be with you
Down every road you roam
And may sunshine and happiness
Surround you when you're far from home
And may you grow to be proud
Dignified and true
And do unto others
As you'd have done to you
Be courageous and be brave
And in my heart you'll always stay
Forever young, forever young
Forever young, forever young"
**Milla and Faith are 2 years 1 week apart in age.
We get to celebrate with both of them in
August as they head into the next year.
Milla turned 3 and Faith turned 1...
yet I can listen to Rod Stewart sing the lyrics
above and know that in the blink of an eye
they we will be at their graduations sending
them off into the world!!! Trying to savor
every minute now!!
We had a family party at my Mom and Cappie's
house.  Since Milla is allergic-- Mom made an
egg free cake and 2 little individual cakes for
the girls.  Everything was pink with a
"Peppa Pig" theme.
Milla McConaha...3 years old
Wt- 37#, Ht- 39 3/8 inches
Faith Townsend...1 year old
Wt- 19#13oz, Ht- 30 inches
Peppa Pig Decor.... Peppa Pig comes on
Nick Jr.-- Milla likes to watch the little 5 min,
clips on youtube
our attempt at a group shot---
some of us have pig noses on to stick
with the theme!
Faith was born on a Saturday a year ago!
Milla was born on a Thursday 3 years ago!
Faith was very delicate and tidy when eating
her cake at Grand Mum's-- so, on her actual
birthday we gave her a second chance...
....and she dug in!!!
Asher came over to play with Milla the night
before her bday. What a neat gift--
 a "build a fort kit"
Faith and Laney played and rolled around!
Ben & Audrey celebrated their 10 year Anniv.
My friends Lauren and Pattie came over
to play and swim one morning.
Here are the kiddos taking  a Popsicle break.
Bella, Davis, Milla, Faith, Haley,
Allie and Anna.
Our neighbors the Rice's and friends the
Hershey's came over after school for
some playtime in the driveway and
birthday ice cream.
FAITH
We went over to see Blakeley, Mia, and little
Jack and Sam!!! Faith enjoyed being in the
middle of the boys!
Blakeley is brave-- she is the mom of a toddler
and twin boys--and she had us over for an "art
day"!!! She got Mia and Milla set up to finger
paint and they were covered head to toe-- the
playing ended in a bath! FUN!
Milla and Mia.....lean on me
SPEAKING OF BIRTHDAYS......
Kelli and Brian announced that they are
expecting a baby "Baby Kochs" Feb 25th!!
They told us by giving Milla a "Big Cousin" shirt
and Faith a "Lil Cus"!!!!
YAY! EXCITING!!!

Farmapalooza 2012

We were so lucky to be able to go to Indiana last
week to be with our family at our annual get
together which this year got the name
FARMAPALOOZA.
It was amazing to be able to get everyone in one place at
one time (even Hank peeking around the from the back)...
they set the camera on timer and somehow everyone
looked and smiled!!! Thirty seconds after this picture was
taken everyone was off in 10 different directions!!!
Thanks to Aunt Connie and Uncle Bob for being
willing to host ALL of us (16 people in 1 house) at
Westcott Place Farm-- (Grandma Rhodes grew up there,
my mom and her siblings grew up there and Aunt
Connie and Uncle Bob currently live there.)
while the guys were shooting guns at the farm some
of us headed out to the splash park--
*Eme*Milla*Reagan Grace
Gatlin, Eme, Reagan Grace and Milla
wadding in the creek

One night after dinner we had a TALENT SHOW.
Milla loved learning some new moves from her
big cousins.  They danced and danced!
In the talent show KJ did the "chicken dance"
and he performed it while holding a live chicken!!!
Reagan Grace sang a sweet song that she
learned at Vacation Bible School!
Gatlin showed us some of his martial art skills-
He broke a board with his knee!
Eme did her routine from dance--
It was to "All Shook Up" by Elvis
Milla was mesmerized and has been
trying hard to reenact the routine!
Milla told a knock knock joke and
recited a Bible verse
Aunt Connie and Uncle Bob lead a sing-a-long to the
Oak Ridge Boys "The Shade" one line says..."I don't
want a fast car, don't need a four lane highway-
There's not another place I'd rather be.
'Cause out her in the country blue birds sing for nothin'
And the shade comes free with the tree"
Grandma Rhodes spoke about her favorite
submariner...Joel Dantzler Rhodes (Grandpa) and
about how happy he would be knowing how much
everyone is enjoying the farm.  She said how
blessed she feels and considers these her
"bonus years"
they have quite a collection of video games--
Milla and Brandon taking a ride in one
many hours of the days were spent riding around
on the trails in golf carts and on 4 wheelers
COUSINS... KJ holding Faith, Gatlin, Reagan Grace,
Milla and Eme-- all of the girl cousins have
August Birthdays--6th, 10th, 10th, and 13th.  We
had a joint bday party.  Aunt Ragan made
DELICIOUS, melt in your mouth ...
"Chocolate Peanut Butter Cupcakes" that had
a hidden Reese's peanut butter cup in each one!
The guys spent part of a day pulling out 2 old cars
from under the barn using a tractor and chains!
Another day they dug a pond!! They didn't make
it in many pictures because they were always out
working on a project and getting their hands dirty!!!
Taking Faith down to go pet the horses
Blondies!!...I love this picture...I can hear the
sound effects of all the laughter and giggles!

Staci had a fun idea that the girls did one
morning--- it was called "FAVORITE THING"

newest favorite thing (under $5) to share with the
other ladies. Then you leave with the other 4
favorite things to try.  The favorites we had were:
1. Burt's Bee's colored lip balm 2. flexible cutting
boards 3. colorful pens that write really well and
a white chocolate/coconut bar 4. Layers Gum
and 5. gift wrap tags and ribbon...it was fun!
