At the same time that we were
looking for a place to live a bird
started building a nest in the
wreath on our front door. I didn't
think it was a safe place for her to lay
her eggs-so, I moved it in the early
stages...but she was instant...she
thought it was a great spot and worked
hard to rebuild it back on the
wreath on the door. I couldn't
argue with the second attempt.
It truly is amazing that birds can
build nest with just their beaks!
We checked the nest daily. One day to our surprise we found this..
3 eggs!!
The very next day....4 eggs!
The next day...5 eggs!
and the next day...6 eggs!
Then, they started to hatch!!!
hungry baby birds!
cozy baby birds!!
INCREDIBLE!!
*watching this process gave a new meaning
to Matthew 6:25-27
"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about
your life, what you will eat of drink; or
about your body, what you will wear. Is
not life more than food, and the body more
than clothes? Look at the birds of the air;
they do not sow or reap or store away
in barns, and yet your heavenly Father
feeds them. Are you not much more
valuable than they? Can any one of you by
worrying add a single hour
to your life?"
*God takes care of these little,
delicate, vulnerable birds... with all
of the dangers out there he protects them
and gives them what they need...
They don't make it by their own
doing...it is because of HIM.
*from a recent church sermon...
"Do Not Worry...even when there is
something to worry about.
Do Not Be Afraid...even when there is
something to be afraid of."
-Andy Stanley
**I will always look at birds and
nest as a reminder of God's love,
protection and provision.**
