Aquarium, Crafts, Trees and Parenting

I got to chaperone Milla's
field trip to the Georgia Aquarium.
We had a great time....then-I was
relieved to get all 6 of these cuties
in my group back to the bus all
accounted for!

Happy 40th Bday to Kelli!
(with her delicious "Piece Of Cake" caramel cake)
She had such a fun party at a really neat
place in Roswell called the
"Red Seal Craft Studio"
www.redsealcraftstudio.com
We got to make signs....you can also
make jewelry and other home decor

Here we are with our signs!

It is never fun to cut down a tree...
it is kind of sad...
but, this tree was offering so
much shade that nothing would
grow under or around it...and
it's roots were headed towards
our sidewalk to cause problems-
so, Brandon decided to take on
the task of cutting it down! His
Dad agreed to come to help.
They did a great job...
everything went smoothly with-
thankfully- no stories to tell!

It is amazing how much wood
comes from one tree

Firewood to last a long time

Both Grandmas (Mimi and Gran Mum)
sat inside with all the little
bystanders who watched the tree come
down from the window!

Our Coworker Jesse stopped by with
her sweet twins Reece and  Ella....Jesse
isn't in the picture but here I am with Ashley
and Nan taking turns holding these little ones!

close up of  the adorable, perfect skinned,
chubby cheeked girls

Stopped to see Dad at work

EYELASHES!

(Ashley, Kristen, Courtney De Feo,
Katie, Me and Maggie)
I got to go to a Women's Conference
called Soar through "Birds On A Wire"
ministries www.birdsonawiremoms.com
Karen Stubbs started Birds On A Wire
and loves to help moms and give
advice on parenting.  She is SO good...
hilarious stories and practical advice.
While at the conference- my Girl's
Bible Study group got to get our
picture taken with Courtney DeFeo
(www.courtneydefeo.com/blog)
and got to listen to her speak.
She wrote the book we just read
"In This House We Will Giggle"
--it is a great book on how to
teach virtues to your kids. She
picks a virtue per month and
gives examples of how to apply
them to your normal life. She teaches
on how to make things fun, live
by example and not just "preaching at"
and lecturing your kids.  She says,
"I don't want my children to obey only
because they fear consequences or
worry that Mom will lose it. I want
to know their hearts understand
and grasp the joy to be found in
doing the right thing. This
requires parenting through
the daily grind with a
long-term mentality."

Fun at the Park With all
ages represented....
lined up from oldest to
youngest...8 down to 1!
