What a trip!!!
Steamboat Springs, CO!
Milla, Faith, and Cole said it was
their favorite trip ever!
We flew out early, early the day
after Christmas. We got to our gate with
about 10 minutes to spare so Faith and
Cole ordered a smoothie…everyone
had pretty much boarded the plane and they
we’re calling for everyone else. The smoothies
still weren’t out so we had to walk away
and get on the plane without them. We
got all settled in our seats and all of the sudden
the gate agent is on the plane hand delivering
their smoothies!! Oh my goodness!
So nice!
We flew in to Denver and drove the 3 hours
to Steamboat because we wanted the kids
to be able to soak up the pretty mountain
views on the drive. That night we went and
got fitted for our skis and went to bed.
We woke up in the morning to
about a foot of snow on the ground.
We stayed at a VRBO condo and could
walk 2 short blocks to jump on the
shuttle that takes you right to the mountain.
We picked up our skis at
“Black Tie Ski Rentsls”
and headed to the slopes.
Excited!
Steve was the best ski school
instructor! He taught the kids so quickly.
They picked it up and were lapping
me in no time!
Top of the mountain!
The lunchroom.

The Peppers family arrived the next day

Can’t believe we are here!!
Lily and Faith were off!
Coltrane
Milla finishing up for the day
You can’t tell behind the big smile on her face…
but, Lana got a fever on their flight to Colorado!
She ended up with the flu and had to stay in
bed the entire trip! We only got to see her for 10
minutes the whole trip! Luckily we still got
to hangout with Ben, Samuel, and Lily!
Poor Lana!! (Luckily she had a really
good view and could see the ski slopes and sunset
from her condo window!)
Dinner at O’Neil’s
Chatting and catching up
Drying our gear
me and Cole bibbing up
Brandon and Faith
snowmobiling at the best place…
Me and Cole ready to go too!
Turns out I am the world’s slowest
snowmobile driver! 🤣 The guide gave us
instructions like “make sure you lean to the left when we go down the narrow trail on the hill….these
snowmobiles roll over easily and it’s too
cold to go swimming in the creek at the bottom!!”
So, I couldn’t help but be cautious!! The group
had to wait on me multiple times bringing up
the rear!
SUCH beautiful views and so much snow!!
Fun!!
Me and Faith
Ahhhh!!
Cole driving!
Snow tubing…
My favorite part!!!
Wide open spaces!!
Rolling snow covered hills for miles
Milla, Faith, Cole, Samuel,
and Lily went a million times! They
tubbed through sunset to dark.
So pretty!
Dinner
me, Brandon, and Ben missing Lana
at dinner!
Only got to say Hi and Bye to Lan!!!
We started the drive to the airport with plenty of
time to spare….the sun was out…we planned in extra
time to stop by Vail to check it out and eat lunch.
We sat down at a little pizza place and it started to
snow…the weather took a quick change…roads
were closed and the time to get to the airport
tripled! The detour took us on tiny, icy mountain
backroads with tons of traffic. There was no way
to make our flight…we had to change our tickets-
get a hotel room-fly out the next day-and have a
layover in Chicago. It was an adventure! I’m
glad that Brandon is so good at driving on
frozen mountain roads!
Clear to covered quickly!
We took a deep breath as we crossed this
icy bridge!
Chicago
A quick layover and then we landed in
ATL to head home and everyone
still got to keep their NYE plans!
It was. WONDERFUL trip!
