Cumberland Island Take 2

We were so blown away by
HOW BEAUTIFUL
Cumberland Island was when we
went for our anniversary last year
that we went back this year to
celebrate our 16th Anniversary!!
Once again it did not disappoint!
It was peaceful, simple, and refreshing.
We cleared our minds and breathed it all in!

Soaking up the views of the water and
the marsh on the ferry ride from
St. Mary's to Cumberland Island.

Made it to the island

All packed up and ready to ride
to our campsite.

First we stopped at The Dungeness Ruins
(was a winter home of the Carnegie family)

Wild horses roam all over the island

Our Campsite at
Stafford Beach
(Brandon is the best person to camp with...
he knows everything we need and how
to do it all! He makes it easy!)

one of the most sought after spots...
relaxing in the hammock

path to the beach

Fishing

Brandon caught a fish pretty much
every time he cast! 21 fish total!

I got a double...2 on the line at once

!!! Loggerhead Sea Turtle !!!
It was amazing!!! We were riding our bikes
down the beach and saw something big from
a distance...it ended up being a momma
turtle headed up the beach to lay her eggs!
SO neat!
**It was a wonderful trip!
Time slowed down...
We escaped the crowds...
So glad we got to go!
